Saturday & Sunday Journal (20260719)

Publish Date: 2026-07-20

Saturday started off as a pretty busy day. My parents were coming over to visit and I wanted to have something for lunch ready.

At first, I was considering cooking something up, but then realized I wouldn't have enough time because I needed to clean the kitchen and throw out some trash. So I decided to make a halfway compromise and buy a box of fried chicken in town, including rolls, then cook the sides myself. I just recently made fried chicken, but I didn't know what else to choose since options in town are sort of limited.

Meanwhile at the chicken place, I must have waited nearly half an hour for my order before giving up and asking them what the deal was. They simply forgot my order... I was watching people walk up and away with large family size box orders left and right, wondering where the heck my order was at.

Fortunately I still had enough time back home to get everything prepared. I made mashed potatoes & gravy with boiled corn on the cob. It was a good lunch to say the least!

Later that evening I mowed the back yard, took a bath, and went to bed.

Sunday was more laid back, but my allergies were awful and made things not so pleasant. I mostly kept in the house and piddled around on my computer until the afternoon. I did manage to make a nice breakfast with fried eggs, bacon and toast though. Had nothing for lunch.

Since there was no Sunday service at church this time, I went out with some friends to swim at a lake. I was hoping my allergies would clear up, but they didn't. My eyes were also very sensitive to the bright sun, so I had to wear shades and my large outdoor straw hat.

Just last Sunday my allergies were also really bad... It's odd that two Sunday's in a row I have terrible allergies. I almost wonder if there isn't an odorless poison in the air coming off of crop fields or perhaps some company venting it into the environment that's getting to me. My reaction is exactly the same reaction you'd get from cutting onions, so it's as if someone were cutting onions around me everywhere I go. I can breath just fine, but my nose and eyes are constantly runny. I wonder if there's an air quality test I could do that might detect chemicals or poison in the air? It gets worse when I step outside.

I might also try one of those allergy tests too just to see if that might uncover something.

By the time I got home, it was late. I really wanted to sleep but didn't want to go to bed with lake water residue still on me, and so I had another bath!

Thanks for reading my blog!
