Welcome to the CozyNet Blog!

/g/anons make a “get well” card for RMS!

So I’m a little late to report on this one, but have been meaning too. I’ve been too busy to keep up with the site, the blog, homepage and such but didn’t want to let this story fall too far behind!

Anon’s on /g/ made a “get well” card for Richard M. Stallman who recently disclosed at a conference that he has cancer. I wanted to document a few of the various versions of the card, and then the final card that was sent!

This was the template card RMS is in the bottom left, a classic green pepper from GIMP, and of course a loli:

Here’s a version (first image) with a few logo icons from various GNU projects and multiple green peppers. The poorly drawn guy in the top right is “Cancer Stallman proudly surveying the world and all that was birthed from his autistic rage at a printer.”

Bearsuit Stallman added in the bottom right (second image) holding a green pepper.

A few more project logos added to the card such as Xue the XFCE mouse and GPL.

And this is the final form of the card. We’ve got a few Linus’s, another loli, a chuddie holding a heart for RMS, and Libbie the Cyber Oryx.

The get-well-card was sent in an email to RMS, and he replied with the following message!

Unfortunately the event had already transpired and ended before I was aware of it, or else I would have included a frog in the get-well-card for Richard! There's a serious lack of frogs on the card, but oh well...

Anyhow, Richard says the cancer is manageable so hopefully he’ll stay well. Over the coming year or two he’s very likely not going to look the same and will appear considerably aged, so be prepared. I know someone personally that’s a similar age to Richard, and it was shocking to see how aged he looked.

Get well soon RMS!

Thanks for reading my blog!

        • Thanks for posting this, somehow news didn't reach me of Richard's situation. Love this site, don't worry about not posting frequently - there's RSS, and there's the people that value quality over quantity

            • Aw, this was so sweet. The media and normies like to claim that anons are awful people, but in reality they are very kind in their own little weird, autistic way. Also you are right, there is a serious lack of frogs in this picture!
